Show One: New Generation - Featuring Campbell Luke, Danielle Power-Silk, Kendall Watt, Motel Bible. Four shows all in one, and I was really impressed. This New Generation show featured a lot of new designers that I hadn't heard too much about, and really showed off a variety of fashion. Kendall Watt stood out for me the most, as I saw it as the most wearable / a brand I would personally wear. Campbell Luke also had some amazing pieces which I can't wait to see on sale.
Show Two: Penny Sage showed off structured yet feminine womens wear. The brand played with a lot of neutral and earthy tones - browns, beige, greens, with little pops of colour throughout the set. I have seen a lot of Penny Sage through editorial shoots, and theres no reason that we won't be seeing A/W 17 again.
Show Three: After 7 years hiatus from New Zealand Fashion Week, Federation returned for 2016! Their runway showed off the street style cool that federation has had going on for years, but on a bigger scale. All the models wore converse, matched with denim, federation staple printed tees with Jenny Joplin (creative directors) art. This was a real reboot into the fashion world as Federation 2.0.
Show Four: Stolen Girlfriends Club. These guys always put on an awesome show and this year was no different. Pounding music, open bar and lots of grunge. The show surrounded light beams which hung down the runway, creating atmosphere for the models to walk around. Stolen Girlfriend's Club sort of almost went back to their roots for this collections - leather jackets, cool tees, large belts added to the cool grunge brand of SGC. (Unfortunately the camera died, so there's only one pic from the beginning!)
