A justification for the madness of magazine subscriptions. You can finally have another excuse for having 5 different subscriptions other than 'I save 30% on this one!'
I have subscribed to what seems like every fashion magazine on the planet, or so my boyfriend says when I get yet another magazine in the mail. I wanted a way I would display all of the magazines without covers hiding underneath of each other. I didn't want a book shelf as such, because the room I had to work with wouldn't compensate for a large piece of furniture taking up 1x2.
That's where I discovered the photo or picture ledge shelves. Almost like floating shelves, but they have a lip so you can stand frames, books, whatever you want on them without it accidentally slipping off and ruining all the work you put into the styling. I purchased the IKEA ones from Shut The Front Door, as it was the only place that I could pick them up ASAP (I'm impatient I know!)
You'll need a handy man (or woman) mine was a family friend who oh so happens to a builder, to install the shelves on the wall, and then it's time to get decorating! I wasn't too keen on loading the shelves up to start with so that I can rotate magazines when I please so although they look a little bare, by the time the next month comes around there will be plenty more to add on.
I'm also forming dangerous addicting to buying table books, so I might write a little post about them once the collection really begins to take shape.. My favourites are from Louis Vuitton - Their travel guides and table books have wonderful covers that are just a preview of what you get inside. Along with Unity Books on High Street, a must do if you're in the city.
